Obituary Index
This Master Index of Ouachita parish area obituaries began in 1995 by genealogy staff who recorded obituaries and deaths found in historic area newspapers. The project expanded to include obituaries from current newspapers and currently contains over 200,000 names. The alphabetical listing can be searched and if included in the index will provide newspaper name, date, page and column so that the citation can be used to access the full-text obituary using microfilm in the Ouachita Parish Public Library Genealogy department.
Ancestry.Com
