Downtown Story Time Stroll
Free family fun! Stroll along downtown West Monroe and read a book together in the beautiful fall weather. The Ouachita Parish Public Library and the Downtown West Monroe Revitalization Group invite the public to explore downtown West Monroe during a walkable story time. During the month of October, 16 merchants will display pages from the book Finding Kindness written by Deborah Underwood and illustrated by Irene Chan in their windows along Trenton, Wood and Commerce Streets.
The book begins at for His temple family foods (315 Wood Street) and ends at The Nude Nomad (222 Trenton Street). After reading the book, families are encouraged to shop local and apply for Library cards at the West Monroe Branch (315 Cypress Street). Anyone who lives or works in Ouachita Parish may receive a Library card, no matter their age. To get a Library card, patrons should bring in proof of identification and proof of address to any of the 10 branches in the Parish.
